Vice Admiral Kevin D. Scott (USN Retired)


Vice Adm. Kevin Scott is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia, and New York City. A 38 year Navy Veteran, he was designated a Naval Aviator in 1984. A graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, Naval Postgraduate School, U.S. Naval War College and the Joint Forces Staff College he has served a myriad of posts throughout the globe at Sea and Ashore.

Operationally, he has Commanded every level thru numerous major conflicts and regional contingencies. He commanded Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron-14, Mine Countermeasures Squadron (MCMRON) 1 as Commodore, Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) 2, and Deputy Commander Naval Forces Central Command/US 5thFleet.

Admiral Scott's ashore assignments have enabled him to accumulate a vast depth and breadth of expertise in the areas of Joint and Interagency Operations, Operational/Nuclear Command & Control; Organizational Management; Training & Professional development. He has served as Director Aviation Officer Distribution, Bureau of Naval Personnel; Operations Officer, Commander Tactical Wing Atlantic; Military Aide to the Vice President; Current Operations Chief, Joint Forces Command; Director, Expeditionary Warfare Division, (N85) Washington D.C.; Director, Joint Fleet Operations, N3/5, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Suffolk, Virginia.


For his final tour of duty Admiral Scott served as Director for Joint Force Development (J7) on the Joint Staff, Washington D.C, from July 2016 thru Sept 2018. In that position, he oversaw the integration of Joint Training, Concept Development, Professional Development, and Operational Analysis and Lessons Learned activities to achieve the Chairman’s vision for Joint Force 2020.


Scott has earned various personal, unit, service and campaign awards. He holds a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies.
