In addition to serving as a Senior Sales Representative with New Market Veterans, Dan Braswell is a Principal at Ventus Executive Solutions where he leads efforts in the areas of Defense Intelligence and Political Military Affairs. Prior to joining New Market Veterans, Dan was an independent contractor in the intelligence space as well as the Senior U.S. Defense Official (SDO) at the American Embassy in The Hague, the Netherlands. As the SDO Dan supported politico-military engagement with the Dutch working for the U.S. Ambassador and as the direct representative of the U.S. Secretary of Defense to the Netherlands military establishment.
Dan also previously served in the U.S. Navy whereas Naval Aviator he commanded a forward deployed helicopter combat support squadron serving in Afghanistan. He also served as the Eastern Europe and Eurasia politico-military affairs division chief for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as Naval Attaché to Pakistan in Islamabad, and as the SDO and Defense Attaché to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Dan has an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the R. H. Smith School of Business of the University of Maryland, a Master of Professional Studies degree in Security and Safety Leadership from The George Washington University, is a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Seminar XXI Fellow, a graduate of the U.S. Marine Corps University, and earned a Bachelor of Science with Merit in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy. He is also the recipient of two Defense Superior Service Medals, the Legion of Merit, and numerous other awards from his military service.
